The National Capital Rally has been promoted by the Brindabella Motor Sports Club and been running continuously since 1995. The rally first started as a club level event until it was granted NSW state championship status. In 2013 a dedicated group applied for the event to become a round of the Australian Rally Championship. Since then the event has evolved into the biggest Motorsport event in Canberra attracting competitors from all around Australia. In 2019 the tradition of presenting a popular and safe event with the support of both the ACT Government and the local forestry continues. With a new more compact format being adopted the 2019 Netier National Capital Rally will be a shorter one day event to reduce costs for competitors and also give spectators an easier access to all of the stages. These will be held in Pierces and Uriarra. Reconnaissance will be held on Friday 10th May followed by the Rally event on Saturday 11th of May.
Adrian Dudok, Clerk of Course explains, “The Netier National Capital Rally is going to be great for both competitors and spectators alike, with short transport distances, streamlined documentation and all the rally action being held on one day, it’s going to be a great event in the nations capital.”
